RJ Palmer, a New York City based advertising agency, located on two nonadjacent floors, was experiencing a loss of productivity due to a sluggish network and frequent user lockouts. The time devoted to diagnostics and desktop support resulted in the IT department bringing all other corporate projects to a halt. This put undue stress on client and staff relationships.
Solution
EIA determined that the problem was a result of a poor installation and non-certified cable plant. EIA successfully repaired, certified, and standardized the existing cable plant. With the reliability of the newly certified cabling insured, EIA was able to add three new high-speed switches. To maximize throughput and network availability between floors, EIA replaced the old copper riser with fiber between the 11th and 24th floors.
Result
RJ Palmer is recognizing many benefits from this solution including:
- A corrected infrastructure problem that put an end to frequent system failures
- Saved money by salvaging many existing cables
- Increased productivity
- Enabled IT to focus on corporate projects
- Increased network reliability
- Increased bandwidth for future needs
The previous company that RJ Palmer had consulted had overlooked the physical cabling layer. Using our proven methodology, EIA was able to identify and resolve a problem in a credible and professional manner, while saving time and money. As a result, the RJ Palmer IT department got back to taking care of the corporate initiatives in order to help RJ Palmer remain a competitive NYC agency.
