NYS Office of Court Administration

The New York State Office of Court Administration needed to cable over 300 courthouses and offices throughout New York City, and Nassau and Suffolk counties. EIA was awarded a 5-year contract that was extended to cover additional requirements.

Challenges
A large-scale premise cabling solution needed to be deployed over a wide geographic area. Strict adherence to the contract requirements had to be met every step of the way to meet NYS OCA’s timeline. Since many of the courthouses and offices are landmark buildings, stringent guidelines had to be followed to preserve the buildings’ integrity.

Solution
EIA designed and installed an ADC (formerly known as Krone)  solution comprised of category 5e unshielded twisted pair copper and Corning fiber optic risers. Every copper and fiber cable installed met or exceeded TIA/EIA Standards for Telecommunication Cabling Installations.

Success
NYS OCA, after thorough inspection, signed off on a project whose workmanship and results exceeded expectations. The courthouses and offices are now able to communicate via a single network, operating as one unified group. Records are more precise and readily available between courts. This allows OCA to meet the high demands of everyday government operations.
