Industrial Bank of Japan (now MIZUHO Corporate Bank)

Industrial Bank of Japan (IBJ) has changed its name to The Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. and is now the largest financial organization in the world. Initially, IBJ had six servers that were of sub-standard performance. Thousands of users across the country who were dependent on these servers could not perform their jobs effectively.

Challenges
Since the bank was relocating in a couple of months, EIA, Inc. had to provide both short-term and long-term solutions. This would enable IBJ to function effectively immediately, minimizing their infrastructure costs.

Solution
EIA performed an inventory of each user workstation and of the existing servers. A new redundant server design and workstation upgrading procedures were submitted to the bank’s management. The solution called for implementation synchronized with the relocation. To support this upgrade/solution EIA provided several full time certified network engineers and PC technicians for a timely and proper implementation. Our team of engineers and technicians implemented and tested the servers prior to the move and upgraded the workstations ensuring a smooth transition. When the employees of IBJ relocated to their new offices, they were able to work immediately without any problems.

Success
IBJ now has a system in place that allowed them to:
  • Increase the reliability of their network resulting in improved customer satisfaction
  • Save money by investing for the future
  • Outsource engineers to fill gaps in their internal skills set
  • Are assured of continued daily operations
Since this initial engagement, EIA and the bank have developed a strong long-term relationship involving network and professional services that has lasted more than a decade.
